Following the success of last April's program, "Eliminating Rural Poverty- The Israel Development Experience", NISPED conducted a similiar course in December, 2008. The Program, which began on the 30th of November and lasted for 12 days, included frontal lectures, workshops and study visits as well as three days of cultural and historic tours. The fact that the 30 participants were from 7 different countries and 3 different continents contributed greatly to the mutual learning process which took place during the course. The participants had the opportunity to share their personal and national experience regarding the discussed topics and to formulate together ideas and policies which might be applicable to their own countries.
"I wish to convey my appreciation for the wonderful experience in Israel. The stark contrast of how we do things hit me right when I landed back home. I shall try and advice our farmers back in my rural area on the best practices that I observed there" - Stephen Obura, Graduate from Kenya.
"I would like to thank the entire staff of NISPED for giving me an excellent learning atmosphere during my stay in Israel. I heartily appreciate the outstanding efforts made by the Israeli people in eliminating rural poverty. It was an excellent time for me in Israel, and I have learnt a lot from Israel experiences for eliminating rural poverty" - Yashpal Bisht, Graduate from India.
